RULES FOR WATER SLIDE

Gouin Pool offers open swim, special events and numerous classes for children and adults, including:
• Swimming Lessons
• Swimming Safety
• Aquacize
and more
Classes are also available for toddlers six months to two years old.
Pool is also available for private parties.

PRE-SEASON WEEKEND HOURS
May 28-31, June 5-6
Fridays 4-8 p.m.
Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

REGULAR SEASON HOURS
June 7 - Aug. 15
Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.-8.30 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

POST-SEASON WEEKEND HOURS
Aug. 21-22 and 28-29; and Sept. 4-6
Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Pool may close earlier due to private parties. Towards the end of the season the hours may vary.

SWIMMING POOL FEES FOR 2010 SEASON

Save with Early Bird Pool Passes! Purchase your Gouin Pool season pass at Grant Park Recreation Center, between March 1 and May 31 and save!

Mondays-Fridays: 8:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
Saturdays: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sundays: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Includes new picture ID with bar code identification.
(Replacement pass $5 fee.)

Obtaining a Pass
• ALL patrons applying for a pass must present a current driver’s license or current photo ID with name and address.
• If a photo ID is not available, two utility bills (water, gas, electric) with name and address are acceptable.
• All members must reside in the household to be on the family pass.
• Patrons unable to present proof of residency must pay the non-resident fees shown.
• There are NO REFUNDS.
• Passes will consist of a maximum of 5 people in the household.

When a pass is purchased the primary pass member receives one, half-price coupon for 1 daily admission for that season.

Appropriate Swim Apparel
• Standard swim suits only (No street clothes, no cut offs, sweats, or leotards)
• White T-shirts (optional)
• Patrons with long hair should have it secured by a rubber band or braided
• Bathing caps (optional)

Inclement Weather:
The pool will close for weather conditions such as lighting, tornados, or if the temperature is below 65 degrees. Sorry, NO REFUNDS.

Concession Stand:
A full service concession stand and patio with tables offers soft drinks, ice cream, candy, popcorn, nachos, pretzels, hot dogs and pizza.
Hours: 11:30 a.m.-7: 30 p.m. Monday-Friday
11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sundays

Bathhouse:
Large shower and locker rooms with pay (25 cents) lockers. All swimmers are required to shower prior to exiting onto the pool deck.

Handicap Accessible
Patrons with disabilities my enter the pool with a floatation device and MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Please Note: Patrons are not allowed to bring food/drinks into the complex. Children under 7 must be supervised by an adult in the water at all times!

TWO SLIDES AND ALL FREE RIDES!
There is a 207-foot slide, and all new 232-foot “Twister” slide, to double your fun at no additional charge! Sliders must be at least 3-feet 6-inches tall in order to use either of these features. Children who do not meet the height requirement will not be allowed to use the slide. Attendants will instruct on the proper way to slide.

THE RAINDROP
An umbrella waterfall area is available for kids and adults to enjoy. Children under 7 must be supervised by a parent in this location.

KIDDIE POOL
Restricted to children 7 years and under who are accompanied by an adult. Infants and toddlers will enjoy this pool with its surprise sprinkler sprays around the perimeter and its canopied shade areas and deck chairs. Children must wear proper swim diapers or rubber pants under their swim suit.

ALL THIS & AND BEACH VOLLEYBALL, TOO!
Another special feature offered to our guests—free-of-charge—is the use of our regulation-size sand volleyball court.

GOUIN POOL RULES:

  1. Pool will close if there is a threat of violent weather or lightning is sighted (fee not refundable)
  2. Pool will close if it is 65 degrees or less at 12 Noon for the afternoon session, or 65 degrees or less at 5 p.m. for the evening session.
  3. Towels, beach robes, books and sunglasses are allowed 10 feet from poolside — no radios!
  4. Smoking, food and drinks are restricted to concession patio. Patrons are not allowed to bring food of any kind into the facility.
  5. Suntan lotion allowed only if showered off before entering water. Lotions damage filter system.
  6. Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times. Never seat a small child on the edge and swim away.
  7. Wading pool is for children 5 years of age and younger only!
  8. All flotation devices, masks, fins and snorkels are strictly prohibited.
  9. Baby seats and strollers must be kept up against the fence area only. Do not bring glass baby bottles into facility.
  10. No diving into pool from sides, jump in feet first, facing water.
  11. Do not enter water unless lifeguard is on deck.
  12. Horseplay, running, dunking, chicken fights, or throwing other swimmers is strictly prohibited.
  13. No sitting or hanging on lifelines.
  14. All swimmers may be required to take a test to check level of ability for diving or depth in which they wish to swim.
  15. Failure to follow lifeguards’ instructions, use of profane or abusive language, loud or vulgar behavior, persons suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, etc. will result in immediate expulsion from this facility.
  16. Persons with open sores, rashes, skin lesions, etc. may not use the pool.
  17. Standard swim suits only. No cut-offs, sweats or body suits or other street clothes.
  18. No refunds.

Failure to adhere to the rules and regulations set forth for the health and safety of patrons may result in serious injury or death.

RULES FOR WATER SLIDE:

  1. You must be 3 ft. 6 in. tall to use the slide.
  2. No metal objects, rivets, buttons, jewelry, keys, chains, watches, etc. permitted on the slide. Locker keys should be pinned inside front portion of swimsuit.
  3. No stopping or standing in flume.
  4. No diving from end of flume or into splashdown area.
  5. Only one person sliding at a time. (Feet first, on back)
  6. Exit pool immediately after each slide.
  7. Violation of any of the rules will result in immediate discharge from this facility.
