Easter Events

VPD Autumn Fest

Flashlight Candy & Egg Hunt

Ages 6–10 Friday, March 11 • 8 p.m. Gouin Park Playground, Franklin Park

We will scatter the park with eggs and candy. THIS HUNT TAKES PLACE AT NIGHT, SO REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR FLASHLIGHT and a basket to collect your eggs and candy. Each hunt will be divided into age groups and start EXACTLY at 8:10 p.m. rain or shine.

Egg Scrambler

Ages 2–10 Friday, March 18 • 6:30-7:30 p.m. George A. Leoni Complex Indoor Turf, Melrose Park

Veterans Park District and the Melrose Park Youth Commission will proudly sponsor an Egg Scrambler at the Leoni Complex in Melrose Park. We will toss out eggs and candy on the field, then the scramble begins. Remember to bring a basket to collect your goodies and a camera to take photos with the Easter Bunny. Free Family Event.

Egg & Candy Hunt

Ages 2–10 Saturday, March 19 • 9:30 a.m. Trumbull Park Playground, River Grove

Hey, kids! The Easter Bunny will be hiding eggs at Trumbull Park. Bring your baskets to collect your eggs. Parents, bring your cameras! Each hunt will be divided into age groups and start at exactly 9:40 a.m. rain or shine.

Easter "EGG"stravaganza — All Age Family Event

Saturday, March 19 • 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Grant Park Glick Hall, Northlake

The Veterans Park District is teaming up with the City of Northlake for another exciting Easter "EGG"stravaganza. There will be crafts, balloon artist and games. Parents, don't forget your camera to take pictures with the Easter Bunny! Free family event!

Family Indoor Garage Sale & Flea Market

Annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive
Saturday, April 9 at Grant Park Gymnasium • 9 a.m.–2 p.m.


Come out and shop at the first ever VPD community Garage sale. Time to clean out your attic, closets or garage for items to sell. Time to upsell your baby clothes, toys, games, tools, books or anything else you may have.
Tables are available on a first come, first served basis. Registration is required in order to reserve your space. Set up time is from 8-9 a.m.

Concessions will be open for snacks.


Location: Grant Park Recreation Center gymnasium
Fee: $20 In District / $30 Out of District
Must register for a space.

Earth Day — Recycled Art Fair

Thursday, April 21 5-6:30 p.m. Bulger Park 1601 Hirsch, Melrose Park
 

Come join the Veterans Park District Green Team, Preschool, Special Recreation and After School Care to celebrate Earth Day with their original works of upcycled art. Drop off items for recycling: ink and toner cartridges, electronic type batteries and cell phones.
